Nfl Build Up: Armagh Match Preview

Local derby number 1 of the year kicks off our league campaign as we play in Division 2 for the third year on the trot.

Staying there will be the years minimum priority.

Starting the league without Lennon, Byrne and White alot of Louth fans have been worrying actually, they are more like in a state of panic!
''where will the scores come from? Dear lord where will they come from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?''

Love him or Loathe him Lennon is a scoring machine but Without him it might make us a little unpredictable in Attack. That could work in our favour. White out takes away alot of deadball certainty but we'll be alot more pacier in attack now. again, another potential positive.

Armagh on the otherhand are like a travelling hospital with as many as 20 injured players...4 of them actually start and there bench will pack with them also. anyway, like I discussed during the week, it is all nonsense. Their under 21's beat our senior team at the start of the year for god sake!

They have 4 debutants in total 2 corner backs highly rated Paul Hughes from Crossmaglen fame. Robbie Tasker who nearly jumped ship to us when Fitzer was in charge and Kyle Carragher also of Crossmaglen fame. We have one Paddy Reilly in at full pack picking one of them up.

Verdict:
Come throw in time Sunday, 30 players will be fit to start the game.
Our Defensive protection and PK and Donnelly partnership at midfield will win enough possession to give us a platform in the game and hopefully starve armagh captain Jamie Clarke enough to give us the win.

Interesting facT
For both sides, only 5 players (in bold below) who started last year's game start again this year!!

Louth – N Gallagher; C McGuinness, D Finnegan, G Hoey; P Rath, D Crilly (0-1), A Reid (1-1); R Carroll, B Donnelly (0-1); A McDonnell, M Brennan, B White (0-2, 1f); D Clarke, S Lennon (0-3), K Rogers (0-2, 1f).

Armagh – P McEvoy; J Morgan, B Donaghy, J Donnelly; F Moriarty, D McKenna (0-1), A Duffy; J Lavery, S Harold (0-2); C Rafferty (0-1), J Hanratty, S Campbell (0-1); T Kernan (1-0), S Forker (0-2, 1f), G McParland (0-3, 2f).
