Division 2 Preview Part 1
An ultra competitive group of team's, each oozing with Class we are going to have our work cut out for us....Realistically Survival and escaping the clutches of Relegation from Division 2 will be our priority this NFL campaign.
Mathematically speaking 3 points could keep us up just as it did for Meath last season.
How will we go about doing this??
First let’s look at the Home Draw
We have 3 home games and 4 away, so we are under the Koch straightaway.
But I might add we have been relatively lucky with the teams we do have at home.
We play the newly promoted and possibly the worst team in the Division Westmeath. Having our most crucial game at home gives us the greatest chance to win and chance of survival.
This game on opening day heightens its importance further, so being at home again gives us a great chance to get some early confidence from the get go and it means they will be definetly be without their Garrycastle contingent.
Bottom line: the game is 4 pointer we need to beat follow struggler’s if we stand any chance.
The remaining two games we play at home are arguably, the best two teams in the Division, Kildare and Tyrone.
How is this lucky you say?
Well, we avoided an almost actual definite unwinnable trip to Fortress Omagh!, not many teams get anything there!! Instead we get an inexperienced Tyrone side in Drogheda. We come out of the traps early and these young, quality hotshots might not fancy it.
Kildare possibly the form team in Ireland at the moment but have not been a great league team under McGeeney. We are their bogey team and we hold no fear of them playing them. Especially at home, it will raise our chances and besides, the Lilly whites don't have the fondest of memories of Drogheda.
we need at least 2 points at home to survive but we should focus all our energy for the home games and Target 2 wins!
