G-G-G-Galway Dossier

What challenge will Galway bring? ?

Having watched their game against against Derry from the previous weekend and the highlights numerous times.

Apart form getting kinda worried, I've tried to break them down and try to measure what to expect come sunday.

Pace
Sunday will be our real introduction to Division 2 like Ireland heading to Stade Francais Saturday. We are going to experience, Pace, Power and Movement like nothing else before.

This is Typified in their impressive half Backline of
Gareth Bradshaw, Johnny Duane and Gary O'Donnell

They drive and drive and drive some more.
It is from there, they set up play majority of their play and caused most havoc on sunday.

Along with that their forwards are small, pacey and hard working Mark Hehir and Danny Cummins

Youthful Diamond.Centre back the two midfielders and centre forward are youthful but very big and rangey. On Sunday in Celtic park they dominated that area working hard for each other.

Knowing they possessed bags of pace inside, they pumped direct quick ball into their forwards, led by Nicky Joce an experienced classy footballer with bags of skill he was the main benefactor, but this was all due to some superb footpassing.

Enthusiasm
To be honest I'm really looking forward to seeing this Galway team in the flesh, they were a breath of fresh air last week.
Their New manager Alan Mulholland has won a minor and under 21 all Ireland with the same bunch of players.
This youthful enthusiasm comes through in the way they play, working hard and showing a lot of flair. Their was and will be a member of his prodigy's in every line of the side come Sunday.
So they didn't really have to buy into a system, they've being playing it TOGETHER since they were minors and it showed!

How we will fare?
They are a young pacey team that looked very convincing away from home. This could be down to the lack of expectancy and pressure placed on them, by themselves and Galway people. (the opposite of us last Sunday)
With no pressure they could play and the young players could express themselves.
They got on a roll and Derry couldn't halt their momentum and in saying that Derry lack serious pace!

This Sunday they have a huge expectancy.....in front of their home fans and young players being young players they may take their eye off the ball with little old Louth coming to town.

We can compete around the middle and we do possess pace, with the pressure off us we could go out and perform and surprise a few people.

Later: I give you Our best team to face them!!
