Fruitful weekend for our Students, 6 in total saw some action this weekend.
Patrick Reilly scored twice as UCD beat Laois....in every match report I seen it puts him down as corner back but i think it is incorrect anyone know the correct answer?
DIT ended their campaign with a win and corner back Gary O'Hare got on the score sheet as they played Carlow IT who had Tommy Durnin at full forward the westerns man kicked 3 points.
Darren O'Hanlon also kicked a point from centre back for Queens in their loss to Tyrone.
I'll save the best for last.
DCU got the result of the day, yesterday. Beating all Ireland champions Dublin and two louth men were literally at the heart of it. Eoin O'Connor and Brian Donnelly are forging a nice midfield partnership providing DCU with platform for 3 wins a week is evidence of this.
On another level, it's great to see Louth players beating the likes of Dublin, it breaks down psychological barriers by showing that not only can compete with the best but we can beat them too!
Going forward It means 5 Louth players in total will be involved in next weekend's semi finals.
DCU Eoin O'Connor and Brian Donnelly panelist Ciaran Ward will face Meath in Navan.
UCD will have Patrick Reilly and Andrew English involved against Kildare in NewBridge.
Bring it on!
