Minor Matters: MFC semi Previews

Semi Finals are there to be won.....thats the cliche anyway.

But, the final experience is the real prize here and especially at minor level as you get a taste of the big day experience.

That's what makes minor finals special.

Speaking of special, there is some really special players on show tonight and I'd advise you to go out tonight and have a look for yourself.

Both games kick off at 7pm

Hopefully the games will be as dramatic as last years minus a phantom point fiasco!

O'Connells/Stabannon/Lannleire Vs St Mary's
Venue: Pairc Naomh Mairtin 7pm

Cian Doyle, again, is the star attraction, Busy week for him by the way, beaten in the senior semi by Cooley on Sunday, game tonight and then Division 1 game Saturday....Burnout alert!!!

The Mary's on the otherhand are really churning out teams lately. They seem to have gotten their act together at underage as there under 16 team is also in the championship final.

It's great to see and great for the county, because we need Ardee producing talent.

This surge of momentum will see them through tonight.

Verdict:St Mary's

One to Watch: Pencil Ryan Rooney down for the future. Great Ardee name, Great Ardee player eligible for 2 more minor seasons.
Number of Louth Minors on show: 2, Cian Doyle and Gavin Douglas Marys

Geraldines Vs St Patricks/Cuchulainn Gaels

Venue: Cluskey Park , Dromiskin 7pm

This semi follows the same pattern as the other semi final!

Good underage system come up against a combination side.

The north Louth Combination will look to Eoghan Lafferty who has featured quite alot for the Pats this season (even busier week for him with a replay this Friday night!)

They might just be that bit thin on the wings which is where this end of the championship is decided on.

Where as the Haggardstown men, will have bulk of Last years Under 16 Championship winners on the wing.

They are in great position for next season but lob in 3 current Louth minors makes them ripe enough for success this season.

Verdict: Geraldines

One to Watch: Has to be my man, Agent Josh Arrowsmith clever forward with pace.

Number of Louth Minors on show:  7 in total, Pats 4, Eoghan Lafferty, Darragh Lafferty, Dylan Lynch, Ross Murphy Gers 3, Josh Arrowsmith, Dara Hamill, Ryan Trainor
