Louth Team to Play Meath

24 hours later...... and the situation for both teams should remain much the Same.....

With the exception of Liam Shevlin, he may not be available.

You could expect a straight swap for Jamie Carr to start centre back. If the new management team don't see Jaime as a number 6 option then instead Conor McGuinness who is also on the bench, could come in.
Final senario Dessie could drop back and PK or Ronan to start in the middle either.

The disappointment of last night's postponement combined with the extra wait I think i can speak for all fans going to this game and say that the  7.30 throw in can't come quick enough !!!!!

Impressions

I like the team named, a little stronger than I'd Like but in reality The manager is probably right.

An wholly inexperienced team in Navan might be open to a crushing defeat and then, stump too many confidences at the one time so early into his reign
(Paul Lambert take note)

Selection

There is team has a nice balance and still room allowed for experimentation.Eoin O'Connor is the only change in the forwards from Sunday and he will roam out the field.

Aidan O'Rourke has thinkered more in defence, than the forwards. Maybe its because he was a defender himself!

but, his selection is well thought out.

Starting two Rookies in the Full back line with Pop and No1 goalie Gally behind them gives them something to fall back on.
Talk about Baptism of fire for the new Corner back from Ardee! thrown right in at the deep and I like it!

Finally, 'Peach' Califf  gets his chance, he partners Dessie in the Middle. They may lack mobility but under this system, the halfbacks and forwards will compensate. Their main objective will be to get primary position and challenge for kickouts. With Joe Sheridan and Conor Gillespie in oppostion they will be tested, thats for sure.

Standard

Thats the thing about tonight, The opposition will be of a considerably higher standard than the weekend and intensity of football will be miles in the difference also.

However, The result is not what matters

Testing the way we play, all the players we have, as well as how the newbies cope.

is.

and i, for one. Is Looking forward to seeing how it pans out!

Navan Under lights will bring a special atmosphere too.
