O'Raghallaighs

Busy days up at the county grounds and on next Sunday 20th January, Louth will play in Drogheda for the third consecutive Sunday. Victories against UCD and Longford plus a draw away to Meath in Navan midweek has Louth top of their O'Byrne cup section. In the semi final, Dublin are the visitors to the county grounds. Well done to all the Louth players and management and good luck on Sunday. We are delighted to see our club man Ruairi Moore wearing the Louth shirt at senior level and making a positive contribution in the games against Meath and Longford. 
Club football preparations for the season have begun. The senior panel under the management of Mark O'Neill, Barry Murtagh and Ambrose McGinty will train this week on Tuesday and Friday evening at 8pm. The minor squad under the management of Kevin King, Martin McArdle and Peter Begley will train every Friday evening from this week. Ladies/girls training continues every Saturday morning at 10.30am. A well attended coaches meeting took place last Friday evening. Damien McKenna was guest speaker and his talk on fitness/coaching was inspiring. If you are available to assist with our juvenile coaching programme in any way that you can this season contact club coaching coordinator Anthony Griffin 087 9621264.

Club Lotto jackpot was not won. Winnings numbers 17, 20, 21, 23. Match 3 €20 winners were Gary Hughes, Margaret Carroll, Abigail Kierans and Margaret Harris. Next week's jackpot is €4700.

The first round of the Leinster Handball 40 x 20 championship 2013 commences on Weds 9th January in the clubhouse. Matches between counties Dublin, Meath and Offaly will take place starting at 7.30 pm. A great evening of sport is guaranteed, there is no charge so you are welcome to come and appreciate why handball has become such a popular sport. Good luck to 5 members of O Raghallaighs handball club representing Louth in Junior B championship this week. First round matches are Oliver Maguire v Dublin's Colin Melody in Leixlip, Billy Cadell v Offaly's Stephen Kane in Mullingar, John Boyle v Offaly's Alan Guigan also in Mullingar, Stuart Heslin v Westmeath's Pat Farrington in Kells, all matches on Weds 9th January while on Saturday 12th January Alan Smith will play a second round match in Leixlip.

Juvenile Handball training resumes on Thursday 10th January from 6 to 7 pm for over 12's and on Friday 11th January from 6 to 7 pm for under 12's.New members welcome, boys and girls. For club handball information contact Stuart Heslin 086-1709268.

O Raghallaigh's ladies/girls football training starts back on this Saturday 12 th January at 10.30 am. Training will continue every Saturday at the club. We look forward to your return ladies. Louth's 2013 season got off to a great start with Sunday's victory against UCD on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-13. Congratulations to the players and management. This Sunday 13th January, Louth will be back in the County grounds for their third O Byrne cup match this season, opponents are Longford and throw in at 2pm.

Club Lotto jackpot was not won. Jackpot this week is €4650. Last week's numbers 1 5 12 22 , €20 winners were; Alan Mc Lernon, Ken Fallon, Mavis Campbell and Tom Mullen. Lotto entry €2 and is available in clubhouse.

There are a few places available for Club Gaelach (IRISH CLUB) which begins again on Wednesday 9th January in the clubhouse. The Irish language classes take place every Weds from 8-9pm at €2 per class. For information contact club cultural officer Suzanne Markey 085-1685214.

Cooley Kickhams GFC Presents  Tribute to Big Pete in Cooley Sports Complex on Friday 25th January 2013 at 9pm adm €10 Music By Henry Mac. all proceeds to new field 

Cooley Kickhams launched their next big fundraiser on Friday night last the 11th January in their club complex.
 This fundraiser is called "Strictly Cooley Style" and consists of 16 ladies and 16 gentlemen.
 The launch was compered by LMFM's Colm Corrigan and the pairings for the big night on the 16th February were announced as families and friends looked on.
 The dancers who have been training since the 3rd January will continue training and improving their steps under the instruction of Aicia Grills Grant and her assistant until the show night.
 Tickets for this show will be on sale in the coming week and it is guaranteed to be one not to be missed.
 Tickets will also be limited so purchase early to avoid disappointment.
