Right before the league I did a pieCe called 'the NFL Division 2 in a nutshell.'
Lets go back and see how my mystic Meg prediction's turned out!!
Best
Case Scenario: win all our home games both local away derbies and with
10 points get promotion and win the final in Croker against Meath.
Worst Case Scenario: Lose the opener and hammered in every game there after.
Most Likely Scenario: Beat Westmeath at home, but ultimately get relegated gaining a few moral victories along the way

The actual Senario: was actually somewhere in between....
The Good.
The
Meath game in Navan, to end the league and relegate them will be a
Highlight to many a Louth fan for a long time to come. But I was most
impressed with the first two games we played,
We
focussed right before the league that beating Westmeath straight away
was badly needed, if we were to have any chance of surviving we had to
get a good start, and we did.
Honourable mention, the finish to the Derry game to grasp a point was riveting stuff.
Not only were his scores inspirational, they were consistent, either from play or frees. They gave his teammates a constant source of hope, which then instilled much needed confidence throughout the team, hebce the good performances.
Speaking
of finds, Step right up Jim McEnaneny, has to feature largely in the
Good section, made a huge impact on our campaign aswell as kicking some
wonderful scores. Top of the singles chart most weeks....but seriously his development has been a massive boost for the present nevermind the future!
The Bad.
Come Championship time we need to tighten the ship or there could be trouble ahead.
and the Ugly...
I like the fact that the Good paragraph is the longest!
MORE TO COME TOMORROW
More Good,
Darren
Clarke as Colum Corrigan said 'the find of the season for Louth' OK,
maybe not a find, but only for his accuracy we would have been
struggling. to help us survive, Louth needed someone to step up and play
irrationally good, DC was that man.

The Bad.
Away
from home if we picked up anything, it was going to be a massive bonus.
but then in reality we had to reassess our capabilities with a Moral
victory slash draw in Salthill, when in reality we really should have beat
them.
A Bad point dropped. BAD Point!!!
Also
Over the seven Games we conceded 9-93!! now that is quite bad, That is an average of more than a goal and 13 points a game.
and the Ugly...
That win against Westmeath (my god was it ugly!!!)
Then, you have that atrocious last 20 minutes in Clones, Decky foolishy got sent off and I thought we were gonners!!! Yes!!, we were that bad, and on that particular day Westmeath picked up a draw with Derry. Squeaky bum time loomed.

'Meade
& Wardy getting the line, and to lose by so much and then the head
boys trying to get rid of poor Banty'
Sorry this goes into Meath's Ugly
section!!!
but, No matter what county you are from it really did get Ugly, for the Royals!
