Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes

What we seen last night was our best talent thrown to the Slaughter.....again

how many years do we have go through before something is done....?

Meath v Louth - Cadbury Leinster GAA Football U21 Championship 2013

I'll pose a number of question's

Were these bunch of players prepared to the best of their ability?

They certainly didn't play to the best of their ability....Why?

Were they tactically aware?

Were they playing to a system?

and finally,

could more have been done?

Of course there could have been!

every situation where a team is beaten there is regrets but sometimes you are safe in knowledge that you gave your all and that you can be comfortable in defeat.

Last night was not one of those occasions, believe it or not but these players are highly talented I  know I’ve singled out Ciaran Byrne and Paddy Reilly (both eligible again next year) but, other players like Dermot Campbell, Conall McKeever, Michael McKeown and Anthony Williams all have the potential to have bright futures in red but, it will all depend on themselves if they make it or not.

Because, just like last night.

Not enough is being done to help them find a way to get there.

We seem to want them to fail, not better themselves, begrudge someone who cares. Because in this county, we seem to love to wallow in our self pity. Strive in it in fact.

Afterall, we have been doing it for 60 odd years and it looks we will do so again for another 60.
