WANTED Louth Manager

Just like any Job you need to meet the requirements and Qualify for the position.
The Louth managers Job is no different....Here's my opinions on the Job Specifications and what is required of the job the new man/woman (we are an equal opportunities employer but not really though!) will undertake, if successful.

Role: As Manager, You will have to Report to the Louth County Board and serve the people of Louth.

Hours: Anything from 6 hours to 120 hours a week
(yes I do know there is only 120 hours in the week!)

Salary: None, apart from Basic Mileage provided. Possible backhanders and brown envelopes are frowned upon by the GAA but the county is so broke, we won't have to worry about them.

Perks: Free entry to games and a Tracksuit if you are lucky.

oh and the Prestige of Leading a county team.

Qualifications: The Highest level of GAA coaching (but its okay if you don't)
some form Sports Science Degree or Masters preferably. (Because that is the way the game is going)
Full Clean driving license (just, cause every Job specification has one!)

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Our applicants should have
A whistle and cones, only joking!
Impeccable organisational skills.
Able to deal with the media.
Good Communicator, motivator.
Leader of Men.

are all a given with any modern managerial vacancy.

Specifically with this GAA Role The Candidate must have.

Inter county experience- Be it under age or senior, as player or a mentor or water carrier, you must possess what an inter county set up is like first hand.

Proven track record-is not essential, but could go in your favour.

Vast Knowledge of Louth Football- Would you work with something, people that you had no knowledge of? Exactly.

Excellent man-management skills- Highly essential now a days especially, with player power and mutiny getting ever the more popular. Keeping a panel of players happy will take you a long way.

A Modern day football vision- If have a Vision a philosophy of the way you want the game to be played then you can sell it on to the players. The players can then buy into it. If they believe in it then you are on to a winner but you need to have a vision...that is key.

 The Bottom Line:
We are offering someone a fantastic opportunity to be an inter county manager. Not only that but the infrastructure is there and a lot better than other counties, an excellent training base and facilities second to none.

We are currently located in Division 2 of the national league.

A talented panel full of potential and young players with a lot of experience.

Importantly, little or no Tradition and a low expectation level from within the county and nationwide.
The successful candidate has the ability to make their own successful stamp on things.

To apply get your local Louth club to nominate you by tonight!!!

Best of Luck!
